Skilled Trades Internship

Looking for an opportunity to learn more about the Skilled Trades Field? Cummins is offering an exciting 10 week summer internship in their electrical skilled trades program starting June 22nd.

Skilled Trades Internship Details:

• Temporary position
• $21.50 / hour
• Full Time work available
• First Shift ( Monday through Friday )

• You will be paired up with a Journeyman Electrician for the duration of the internship and work in Cummins Assembly/Test/Final Parts Mounting area of the plant.
• Cummins has a state certified Journeyman program at the plant and hours worked during the internship would be counted towards the 8000 hour on the job training requirement if the you were to be hired full time after the internship.
• Students can expect to work on the following:
• Industrial Controls
• PLC Programming
• Low Voltage Wiring (24V)
• Robotics
• Engine Assembly
• Production Engine Testing
• Automated Equipment
• Automated Guided Vehicles
• Conveyor Systems
• Mechanical Repair

Skilled Trades Internship Qualifications:

• You must be 18 years or older
• You need to be able complete the full 10 week program
• You will need to be able to lift 35 lbs
• You will need to provide steel toe boots or shoes
• You will need to be enrolled in the following degree programs:
• Mechatronics
• Electrical Construction and Maintenance
• Electrician Electrical Engineering Tech (BS and AS)
• Mechanical Engineering Tech (BS or AAS)
• Mechatronics Tech (BS or AAS)

• Applicant may be subject to a background check
• Pre-employment drug screen (Excluding THC) is required as a condition of employment
