The Durable Slate Company , an award-winning historic roofing contractor established in 1986 , is seeking a Roofing Laborer to join our team. We specialize in slate, copper, and clay-tile roofing and are known for our commitment to quality craftsmanship, safety, and historic preservation . This is a full time position that will allow you to build a career in the roofing trades. We offer paid in house training through our apprenticeship program, including safety training designed for individuals who want to learn the trade, gain hands-on experience, and grow into skilled roofing professionals . We work locally as well as nationally, offering paid travel time and logistics for projects out of town.
Assist skilled roofers with installation, repair, and maintenance of historic slate, clay-tile, and copper roofs
Handle materials, tools, and job site setup safely and efficiently
Learn roofing techniques, safety procedures, and craftsmanship skills
Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites
Motivated individuals with a strong work ethic
Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced roofers
Able to work at heights using ladders, lifts, and scaffolding
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Valid driver’s license with 4 points or less, ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
