The Charleston Gazette-Mail is seeking a reporter to cover West Virginia's Capital City. This is a full-time, in-person position based in Charleston, W.Va. Full benefits and generous PTO are included. As a City Reporter , you will be responsible for keeping readers in West Virginia's largest city informed about the issues that affect their daily lives. This includes coverage of city politics, breaking news and local courts. As a member of a small-but-dedicated newsroom, you will also be expected to pick up occasional General Assignment stories as directed by an editor. While the Gazette-Mail continues to be a five-day-a-week print newspaper, we prioritize digital news coverage and a digital-first approach to content delivery. As such, experience operating on tight deadlines and an understanding of SEO best practices are crucial skills for this position.
