Job Description

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE  

The Lead Accountant, Tax supports the Company’s tax accounting and compliance processes across multiple jurisdictions. This position is responsible for the calculation, accrual, reporting, and review of various state and local tax obligations.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare, analyze, and record tax accruals.
• Prepare and review state and local tax filings.
• Support and review property tax compliance activities.
• Lead responses to audits and tax inquiries.
• Monitor tax law changes and ensure compliance.
• Provide tax guidance for business transactions.
• Identify tax planning opportunities and process improvements. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Minimum experience required of the position

• 5+ years of tax accounting experience with SALT exposure.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities preferred of the position

• Strong accounting and reconciliation knowledge
• Advanced Excel skills
• Analytical and problem-solving ability
• ERP experience

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

• Preferred: CPA or progress toward certification

Physical Requirements

• Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop.
• Able to sit for extended periods of time.
• Able to operate a copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.
• Able to exert up to 10 Lbs. of force occasionally, and /or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects.
