Emergency Department Overview:
VUMC’s Emergency Department is a Level I trauma center and one of the busiest in the region, providing emergency services to a diverse patient population. The department is also a key training site for emergency medicine residents and medical students, with a strong focus on clinical excellence and education. The department includes divisions focused on operations, EMS, ultrasound, and global emergency medicine. VUMC serves over 200,000 patients annually in its emergency departments, and the Department is ranked #2 in NIH funding nationally.
