Job Description

Construction Superintendent (Senior-Level) -Must have Tilt Wall Industrial Experience

Location: Houston, TX (Greater Houston + occasional Austin travel)

Reports To: VP of Development

About the Company

This organization is a fully integrated industrial real estate developer with in-house construction and design capabilities. Unlike traditional developers who rely on third-party general contractors, they manage the entire lifecycle of their projects—from concept through completion.

This vertically integrated model allows for greater control, efficiency, and consistency across projects, resulting in stronger execution and long-term value. The company specializes in the development and construction of large-scale industrial facilities, including manufacturing and distribution centers ranging from 20,000 to over 1 million square feet.

Position Overview

The company is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations across multiple concurrent industrial projects. This is a senior-level, hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing daily site activity, coordinating field execution, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

This individual will manage multiple job sites simultaneously and provide guidance to junior superintendents, playing a key role in scaling field operations as the company continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day field operations across 5–10 active construction projects
  • Lead and mentor 1–2 Junior Superintendents
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and on-site activities
  • Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules
  • Maintain job site safety and compliance with all regulations
  • Partner closely with internal development, design, and construction teams
  • Travel regularly between project sites across the Greater Houston area (with occasional Austin projects)

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent
  • Strong background in industrial construction , including:
    • Tilt-wall construction
    • Pre-engineered metal buildings
    • Manufacturing and distribution facilities
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, scheduling, and site coordination
  • Familiarity with how manufacturing operations integrate with building infrastructure (e.g., power, crane systems, etc.)
  • Self-starter with the ability to operate independently and make field-driven decisions

Work Environment

  • Primarily field-based role
  • Houston-based with weekly in-office meetings
  • No desk-based expectations—this is a hands-on field leadership role

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary (flexible based on experience)
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Opportunity to join a stable, well-established developer with a strong reputation in the industrial space

Why Join This Opportunity?

  • Work for a developer with full control over the construction process—not a traditional GC environment
  • High level of autonomy and trust in the field
  • Strong pipeline of large-scale industrial projects
  • Collaborative culture with alignment between field and leadership teams
